Bee Busy Wellness | Located in SW Houston on West Bellfort and on Bissonnet, Bee Busy Wellness offers primary care, pediatric care, OBGYN services, dental care, pharmacy services, mental health care, STI screening and treatment, and ultrasound and x-ray diagnostics. School and sports check-ups, immunizations and flu shots are available. Busy Bee mobile health provides educators to your school or business, will hold wellness seminars and sexual health education seminars, and distribute free condom "goodie bags"/STI testing. Casa El Buen Samaritano Clinic | Casa Clinic focuses its efforts on five clinical impact areas - Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, Preventive Medicine, and Women's Health. Clinic hours are from 5pm to 9pm, Tuesday evenings and three Thursday evenings each month. To be a patient at Casa El Buen Samaritano, patients must have no form of health insurance and be below 150% of the Federal Poverty Line. There are no fees. Central Care Community Health Centers | Houston’s oldest health centers offering residents medical care, dental and behavioral health services. Focusing on primary care, they offer men's, women's and pediatric care, in addition to immunizations, diagnosis and treatment of chronic and acute illnesses, HIV and STD testing, TB screening for pre-employment, mammograms, and family planning counseling. Dental care includes ongoing dentistry for adults, urgent care, simple oral surgery including wisdom tooth removal, and pediatric dentistry. No one is turned away. Mental Health services include individual, group and family therapy. There are four main clinics, in Sunnyside, the Third Ward, MLK, and Hillcroft areas. Christ Clinic | Serves patients in the Greater Katy and West Houston but is not restricted to any geographical boundaries. You must be between the ages of 18 and older, Have no regular doctor, have no private insurance, Medicare or Veteran's medical benefits and be low income (Our definition of low income is that a person can have wages/salary to 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL) or under) or individuals who do not qualify for Medicare/Medicaid or ACA, individuals recently laid off, and individuals experiencing financial hardship. Christus Clinics | Christus Clinics operate under the teachings of Catholicism but offer primary care services to individuals of all faiths. No insurance is accepted, and there are no eligibility requirements. Christus clinics provide family medicine, low cost and free immunizations, assistance through their prescription drug plan, and pediatric care for children age two and older. They offer two clinics, one in Houston’s East End, the other in Dickinson. The Christus Mobile Health van offers clinics and flu shots around the city - check here for their daily calendar. El Centro de Corazon | With 3 clinics located in Houston’s East End, El Centro de Corazon offers primary care, dental, behavioral health, a children's wellness program, children's behavioral health, and diabetes care/management programs. They offer family medicine visits, vision and hearing screenings, some cancer screening, immunizations, and school/sports physicals. Mental health options include individual, couples and family therapy, art therapy, testing, assessment and medication management. Dental options include basic dental care, fillings, extractions and root canals. All services are available in Spanish. Contact them at 713.660.1880 to learn more.
Hope Clinics | Offers primary care, well women’s exams, immunizations, pediatric, eye exams and many more services. HOPE Provides health care services to all regardless of the patient’ ability to pay. HOPE Clinic serves the uninsured, underinsured, those with limited English proficiency, and the low-income, but also takes regular insurance. Those without insurance must bring qualifying documents, see their website. A unique characteristic of HOPE Clinic is its capacity to provide services in 14 different languages, including: Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Burmese, Arabic, and Spanish. IBN SINA Foundation Clinics | They have 5 locations in the Houston area. Services include primary care, pediatrics, immunizations, well woman/well man physicals, gynecology, dermatology, behavioral health, podiatry, opthalmology, and orthopedics on a sliding fee scale. Legacy Community Health | Cffers primary care, dental, vision, behavioral health, pediatrics, HIV services and well women’s services. If you are a new patient, you must fill out these forms prior to being seen. They have several locations in the Houston area, including the Montrose Center, the Montrose Clinic, Mapleridge near Chimney Rock and Bissonnet, Alief, Lyons Clinic, Northline, The Baker Ripley/Rookin Clinics in Sharpstown, Santa Clara Clinic on Lawndale, and the Gulfton area on SW Frwy. Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) Pediatric Health Care Clinic | provides health care, $10 immunizations, and education for children of all ages. The center provides a full range of services, from preventative to acute care, chronic illness management, nutrition counseling and more. Call 281.583.5600 for info.
Pasadena Community Health Center | offers family practice, internal medicine, pediatric care, women's health, dental and counseling services to the Pasadena area. San Jose Clinic | Located at 2614 Fannin, provides services exclusively to the uninsured is a ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and a United Way agency. They provide a wide variety of services to those who do not qualify for any other programs, including primary care, pediatrics, women's health, behavioral care, opthalmology and optometry, diagnostics like X-rays, ultrasound and lab testing, dental care, and pharmacy services. Unlike most agencies, San Jose provides medical care for specialties like cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, neurology, orthopedics, and podiatry. Mammograms and cervical cancer screenings are available. Spring Branch Community Health Centers | Operates 6 community health centers in the Spring Branch, West Houston, Katy, and Cy-Fair area, and offer services that range from family medicine, women’s healthcare, pediatrics, dental care, back-to-school vaccinations, flu shots, behavioral health, well women’s services and prenatal care. Fees are on a sliding fee scale, and they accept Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, and all private insurance as well. For more information contact them at 713.462.6565.
V-Care Clinics | Located in Pasadena and the Hobby Airport Area, offer a $35 doctor's office visit (and coupons on the website), medical and dental services, drug and alcohol detox, mammograms, family planning services, free breast cancer, colon and skin cancer screenings, routine vaccinations, and much more. Mental health care services are available through referrals to other clinics. Contact them at 281-962-3222.
Vecino Health Centers | Located in the Denver Harbor area, (also operate a children's facility on Airline), offers primary care, pediatric, dental and behavioral health services. Fill out forms online to learn about fees and what financial assistance to expect. Doctors are from the Houston Methodist Family Medicine program. These are in addition to the Harris County Health Care system, which requires enrollment and has strict guidelines for eligibility.

Depending on your needs, you might want to see a therapist, a therapy group, a psychologist or a psychiatrist. You may want to work with both a therapist (for talk therapy) or a psychiatrist (who can provide medications), or both. Avenue 360 | operates four behavioral health clinics that provide substance abuse treatment and therapy for adults and adolescents. They treat four main areas: psychiatry, mental health, substance abuse treatment and medical case management, on a sliding fee scale. The treatment process includes screening a patient, forming an assessment, treatment planning, following through and discharge. Bee Busy Wellness | located in SW Houston on West Bellfort and on Bissonnet, provides assistance in the areas of stress, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues, as well as help with lifestyle changes and management of chronic illnesses. Catholic Charities | Has 6 Houston area clinics (in Tomball, Central Houston, West Houston, Fort Bend, and 2 in Spring) that offer services in individual and couples counseling, trauma, anxiety and depression, parenting, family issues, anger management, divorce and separation, and coping for caregivers. Services are provided by licensed clinicians including marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, and counselors. Spanish language counseling is available. Piloting a Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Consultant Model for integrated primary care and mental health services, the project serves low income (below 200% of the poverty line) uninsured individuals of all ages with a mental health diagnosis. Family Houston | Provides professional, confidential counseling for children and adults, individuals and families. They accept all major insurance plans and offer a sliding-fee scale. Treating depression and anxiety, family conflicts, couples therapy and divorce issues, and substance abuse, they also provide classes in financial mgmt., parenting and veterans issues. Fuller Life Family Therapy | Clinics located in the Bellaire area and on Harwin Drive, offers a wide variety of therapy, including individual, couples, marriage and family counseling. They address most mental health issues including depression, anxiety, sex and intimacy issues, eating disorders, post-partum depression, grief, social skills issues, and many more. The Harris Center | Provides a wide variety of mental health options to area residents at 4 locations in the Houston area. From outpatient mental health counseling and services, a comprehensive psychiatric emergency program, treatment for those in area jails, and a jail diversion program for those on the street, the center serves adult residents of Harris County ONLY. The Houston/Galveston Institute | Provides low cost counseling to clients of all ages, on a wide variety of topics. Costs are based on a sliding fee basis based on income. Interface Samaritan Counseling Centers | Offers therapy, psychiatric services and counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. The Montrose Center | At 401 Branard, in the Montrose neighborhood, has one of the most comprehensive array of counseling services among LGBTQ centers in the nation. Many of the counseling services offered are geared toward the LGBT community and individuals who are HIV+. Despite this, heterosexual clients are always welcome to services at Montrose Counseling Center, as are all ages. The Center accepts all insurance, including Medicare/Medicaid. Discounted fees are offered if you have no insurance and/or limited means. You may also qualify for grant subsidies to cover all or a portion of fees and co-payments based on your income. Low Cost/Sliding Fee Scale Dental Health Options for Houston
This list is primarily for adults (there are other options for children under 18) and does NOT include the Harris County Health System options or the City of Houston Dental Care system. They have separate eligibility requirements. For complete information in any of these programs, always call for information first.
Most of these options work on a sliding fee scale - there are no free options, although most shelters have programs for the homeless. Most clinics have some sort of eligibility requirements. Once you have filled out forms with income, etc., your fee will be determined, and MAY be as low as $0. This list does NOT include the Ben Taub/Harris Health clinics, which require you apply for a Gold Card, or the City of Houston's program for children and pregnant women. Those are separate programs. Busy Bee Wellness | Services include a full range of general dental care for children and adults including preventive routine exams, restorative work, cleanings, simple oral surgery, crowns and bridges, and care for periodontal disease (gum disease). Dentists provide oral surgery services including extractions and removal of wisdom teeth as well as endontic services such as root canals. The San Jose Dental Clinic | Located at 2615 Fannin Street Houston, TX, call 713.228.9411. No insurance is needed because services are provided via sliding scale fees. For dental services you must complete an Eligibility Application. SJC accepts walk-ins for Eligibility interviews from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday. You are advised to arrive as early as possible. San Jose provides a wide variety of services, including fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, and even dentures.
Spring Branch Community Health Center's Pitner Dental Clinic | Located at 8575 Pitner Rd Houston, TX, call 713.462.6545. All patients must complete an eligibility form prior to arrival and treatment. Fees are on a sliding scale. Services include a wide variety of dental services including extractions, crown and bridge preparations, partial dentures and more.
UT School of Dentistry Houston | Offers services to children and adults. Services are provided by students in the UT dental programs. Students are however supervised by faculty and dentists. Treatment is provided in three separate areas of care:
Dental Hygiene Care – Students provide basic dental services and also offer education to clients. A screening appointment is necessary for Dental Hygiene Care. This screening can be coordinated by calling 713.486.4000.
Comprehensive Care – An initial assessment must be completed to learn more about dental needs. The assessment is free although if further testing (X-Rays) is needed fees range between $40-$90.
Urgent Care – The schedule for Urgent Care varies therefore it is suggested that you call 713.486.4000 Option 1 prior to visiting the clinic. No appointment is required for Urgent Care because services are rendered on a first come first serve basis. The doors open at 7:30AM Monday through Friday and you are highly encouraged to arrive as soon as possible. The initial exam fee is $25. After diagnosis if a patient requires urgent care fees can be as much as $200 or more.
UT School of Dentistry does not discount fees, their fees are normally at a discounted rate. Prior to performing any dental work UT will inform you of your diagnosis/cost of treatment. Contact the dental school at 713.486.4000.
V-Care Clinics | Located in the Pasadena and Hobby airport areas, offer a wide variety of dental services, starting at $35. From exams to extractions, root canals and crowns, and even dentures and night guards, call them at 713.640.2273 for more info.
Vecino Dental Clinics | Services are not free although they do operate on a sliding scale. Depending on income, an office visit could range in between $20-$55. Their adult dental services at the Denver Harbor Family Clinic at 424 Hahlo Street Houston, TX 77020 are open until 8pm, Mon-Fri. Services include exams, cleanings, extractions, fillings, and crowns.
